Heat stroke :-
Heat stroke is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when the body's temperature regulation system fails, causing the body to overheat.
It is regarded as a medical emergency that necessitates prompt medical attention Heat stroke typically occurs when a person is exposed to high temperatures for a prolonged period of time, and their body is unable to cool down effectively through sweating or other mechanisms
Symptoms :-
Heat stroke symptoms may consist of a high body temperature (usually over 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees Celsius), confusion, rapid heartbeat, headache, dizziness, nausea, and seizures. In severe cases, heat stroke can lead to organ damage or even death.
Additional symptoms may include
*dry skin
*hot skin
*difficulty breathing
* absence of sweat despite the heat.
If someone is exhibiting symptoms of heat stroke, it is essential to seek medical attention immediately
prevention :-
1. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, irrespective of whether you are thirsty or not.
2. Avoid the hottest part of the day: Try to stay indoors or in shaded areas during the hottest part of the day, usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
3. Wear appropriate clothing: Dress in lightweight, loose-fitting clothes that allow your skin to breathe.
4. Apply sunscreen: Use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapply it every two hours or after swimming or sweating.
5. Take cool showers or baths: This can help lower your body temperature.
6. Rest in the shade or indoors: If you are outside, rest in shaded or air-conditioned areas to help your body cool down.
7. Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Both can contribute to dehydration and increase the risk of heat stroke.
By following these steps, the risk of heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses can be minimized. In case you experience symptoms of heat stroke, seek immediate medical attention.
