                                            Sunburn in cats is a condition where the skin of a cat becomes inflamed and irritated due to overexposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Cats with light-colored fur, thin fur, and white ears or noses are more susceptible to sunburn than other cats. Here is some information on the symptoms, precautions, and treatment of sunburn in cats

Symptoms:-

• Red or pink skin

• Inflamed skin

• Itchiness or pain in the affected area

• Dry, flaky or scaly skin

• Hair loss

• Ulceration or bleeding in severe cases

• Fever or lethargy in extreme cases

Precautions:-

• Keep your cat indoors during the hottest hours of the day, usually between 10 am and 4 pm

• Provide shaded areas if your cat is outside

• Apply pet-safe sunscreen to your cat's nose, ears, and other areas that are exposed to sunlight

• Consider using protective clothing like a cat-sized sun hat or t-shirt

Treatment Options :-

• If you suspect that your cat has sunburn, take them to a veterinarian immediately for a proper                 diagnosis and treatment.

• The vet may prescribe a topical ointment or cream to soothe the skin and reduce inflammation.
